Insurance

Getting travel insurance in your country prior to visiting Korea is recommended.
Insurance is also available at the Incheon International Airport.

Credit Cards

Major international credit cards such as Visa and Master are commonly acceptable at most hotels, department stores, restaurants, and shops.
Restaurants and shops generally display signs indicating what cards they accept.

Tipping & VAT

Tipping is not a customary practice in Korea.
A 10% service charge is automatically added to your bill at all tourist hotels, and additional tips are not expected. Tipping taxi drivers is not required unless they assist with luggage or provide extra services. Visitors can receive a refund on a receipt for a minimum purchase of KRW 30,000.

Mobile Phone (Roaming)

CDMA cellular systems are widely used in Korea. SK Telecom, KT and LG U+ provide a SIM card roaming service to allow you to use your GSM subscription in Korea. At Incheon International Airport, you can rent a special CDMA cellular phone which accepts your SIM card.
